Home Care Helps Seniors Celebrate Life
Published August 29, 2014 by Francesca Robinson, MA in Home Care Services
I am a new mother to a sweet baby girl. I can say, unbiasedly, that she is the most beautiful baby in the world. I love every minute I get to spend with her despite the lack of sleep and the enormous pile of laundry on my bathroom floor. Life as a new mother is exciting and terrifying at the same time. Every new development brings incredible joy, but also new questions and often worries. The day begins and before I know it it’s over and I have dirty dishes in the sink and no food in the refrigerator, I need help.
Thankfully, I have a team that provides me with incredible support. My mom and my sister come over to do laundry, sweep my floors, and watch the baby so I can shower. It doesn’t take much, but their help and support enables me to enjoy and even celebrate each new smile and giggle. It’s care when I need it, how I need it and with a personal touch. It’s the type of care I have talked about for years and what we strive to provide to our senior clients across the nation–client-centered and senior home care.
The right home care in place can provide seniors with the the help they need to live independently. Services as simple as housekeeping, grocery shopping, and meal preparation can give our senior clients the support they need to enjoy and even celebrate each new day.
It’s not easy to ask for help. I experienced this first hand as a new mom, wanting to be able to do it all on my own. But, what I realized that in wanting to do it all, I missed out on so many little moments. For me, asking for help made all the difference. If you or a loved one are feeling overwhelmed, don’t hesitate in asking for help. I’ve seen first hand, the difference home care makes in the lives of seniors.
At Preferred Care at Home we believe in celebrating life, dignity and independence. We do this by providing client-centered care with a personal touch. If you would like more information about our home care services, contact a location near you.
