Our Caregivers
When you choose a home-care service, one consideration stands above all else: the quality of the caregivers who will be at your or your loved one’s side. You want people you can trust without question.

Every Preferred Care at Home caregiver possesses two key characteristics: a compassionate heart and home-care experience. The first and most significant characteristic is the compassionate heart. No training can create this uncompromising, required quality.

To ensure you receive the highest-quality home care possible, we put all caregiver applicants through a rigorous, seven-step screening process after we receive their comprehensive caregiver application. You can learn more about this process in the video and article below.

Caring for people in need can be rewarding work. At Preferred Care at Home, we’re always looking for people with the appropriate experience. But most importantly, we seek home-care aides who are compassionate and reliable.

About Us
Since 1984, the husband-and-wife founders of Preferred Care at Home have been helping seniors stay in their homes, happily and safely. Now a nationally franchised but still family-run business, Preferred Care at Home offers high-quality in-home care at affordable rates.

“Quality services at affordable prices” is and will always be at the center of every Preferred Care at Home location. It’s no coincidence that Preferred Care at Home has expanded over four times faster than the average franchise company and that the Preferred family now stretches as far northwest as Alaska, northeast as New York and south Florida.

At Preferred Care at Home, we’re passionate about not only helping elderly people but also advocating for them. We recognize the wealth of knowledge and experience they possess. We believe that to be a strong community, we can’t ignore their stories and knowledge. And we’re concerned that elderly people have lost value in our culture. We want to be part of changing that.

“After trying two other companies, I found Preferred Care at Home. I have truly found a company that cares and delivers on what they promise.” -- Anthony L.

I am a Marine first and a veteran second. Serving my country brought me much honor and pride but left me debilitated. After two surgeries and countless months of rehab in Temple I was able to go home and continue my life. I have always been a strong man, so I thought, but getting through my day to day activities was posing some difficulty. After several months of trying and severe depression setting in I decided to search for some help. The internet, although confusing, assisted in my finding Preferred Care at Home. I called the number and spoke to Alicia who then had Carla call me back. Carla came out that Sunday afternoon and changed my life. Between the immense knowledge she possessed and compassion she conveyed I was orientated to two caregivers that evening and completed all paperwork associated with a veteran benefit I didn’t even know existed, Aids & Attendance! If you are looking for quality and compassion look no further!

Carla and her team of angels have cared for my Alan for more than a year, they are knowledgeable and compassionate. Our two caregivers have always showed-up on time and have gone above and beyond for us. They have allowed me to continue to be a wife and not a caregiver. I recommend this agency to anyone in need.

As a disabled veteran on a fixed income I greatly appreciated the information I was given my the administrator who came to my home and provided me with a free in home assessment. She even brought the VA paperwork with her! I am very thankful for having chosen this agency for my needs. Phil is my caregiver and thanks to him I’m playing golf again!

I have been a client of Preferred Care of Lake Worth for the past 4 years. I have always found the personnel to be efficient and knowledgeable regarding their responsibilities. When I have had a problem come up, they have always responded favorably to my needs. I have only the most positive relations with this caregiver.

My parents were in serious need of assistance during the past “Snow Bird” season. Being 1200 miles from them, except for brief emergency visits, was very overwhelming and frightening. Preferred Care made all the difference in the quality of their life, and mine! My parents were always in wonderful, caring and professional hands. When I flew home and knew Donna, their aide, and Preferred Care, were there to help them, I was confident that the quality of life and dignity they deserve would be maintained. We all have our fingers crossed that Donna will be reassigned to help them again when they return next Fall to Boynton Beach. Thank you David, and of course, Donna!

We have used Preferred Care for the last 4+ years to provide home care to my wife’s mother, who is currently 96 years of age. We live in Maryland, some 1,1oo miles from her, and without the loving care they provide to mom I don’t know what she or we would do.After we engaged Preferred Care to support mom it didn’t take long to see how fortunate we were to have selected them. They are very caring people who know their client’s needs and work tireless to satisfy them. They often go beyond their stated duties to ensure that mom is getting the best care possible and is eating and taking her medication as prescribed. The owners of the company maintain continuous contact with us and report on mom’s condition; It is very reassuring to us that we have this company to look over mom’s well being. I really hate to even think about how we could take care of mom without Preferred Care at Home. Many times the owners have gone far beyond the call of duty to make sure mom was taken care of, sometimes at personal sacrifice to themselves.

Preferred Care at Home has been taking care of my mother for 4 years and counting. I would give them 10 stars if I could. I live across the country from Mom and I feel like my family is taking care of her. They are trustworthy, loving, reliable, and go way beyond the call of duty. We couldn’t be in better hands. The caretaker is great but the owners of the company are amazing and they really watch over our case and make sure that mom is getting the best care possible. If you want the best then call Preferred Care at Home. They are everything they promised they would be and more…I really mean this!

My husband’s female caregiver comes during Fridays. We are very pleased with her because she is very good and my husband is very comfortable with her. It didn’t take long for the agency to find the caregiver. She was a good match as a caregiver for my husband.
