We’ve been in the home care business since 1984. Our local office is owned by Natalie Caldwell and Ricky Greene, right here in South Miami. Skip the advertisements, because when you call, you reach the owners directly.
This is personal to them, not just a business transaction. Our family company conducts a rigorous 7-step screening process for every caregiver we bring on. All our caregivers are employees, not gig contractors.
Every employee on our team is matched based on personality, not just availability. Care stays directed by what your loved one actually wants. Family members get real-time information through schedules, caregiver notes, and comments in our Transparency Room.
You can log in from any browser or phone, starting from the date care begins.
Bathing alone becomes unsafe long before most families notice. Our caregivers provide assistance with bathing and personal hygiene, always in a way that respects dignity and independence.
Buttons, zippers, and shoelaces can turn a simple morning into a struggle. We offer assistance with dressing and grooming so your loved one starts each day comfortable and put together.
Falls are one of the biggest risks facing elderly people who live alone. Our caregivers provide assistance with mobility and safe transfers between beds, chairs, and bathrooms.
These are the tasks families find hardest to discuss, and the ones that matter most. We provide assistance with toileting and incontinence care with patience and respect.
Missing a dose or doubling one by mistake happens more often than families realize. Our caregivers provide medication reminders and keep an eye on your loved one’s overall wellness.

Driven by Passion, Committed to Compassion

Natalie came to home care as a Registered Nurse with years in emergency medicine across South Florida. Working in the emergency department, she watched elderly people discharge from a hospital or skilled nursing facility and return within months, often because the right support simply wasn’t in place at home. That experience, and the outcomes she saw that didn’t have to happen, are why she is here.
She earned her Master of Science in Nursing and became a Family Nurse Practitioner, a credential that shapes how care plans are built at this office: around the whole person, not just the task list. Natalie’s role is overseeing client services and the quality of every care plan we develop. The clinical eye she brings makes a measurable difference, even in non-medical care.

Ricky Greene grew up in a Cuban-American household watching his mother provide full-time, unpaid care for his grandparents. She gave that care because that was how their family showed up for each other. Ricky built his career in long-term care operations because he wanted every family to have access to that level of care, not just the ones with someone who can give up everything to provide it.
His focus at this office is the caregiver side of the business: the hiring, the matching, and the oversight that determines whether the care actually works. When a family calls to say the caregiver feels like part of their household, that is the outcome Ricky works toward every day.

Brian Caldwell is Vice President of Operations. He runs the day-to-day side of the office: scheduling, caregiver coverage, and the systems that make sure the right caregiver reaches the right home at the right time.
Families rarely see the operational side of home care, but they feel it. Brian’s focus is on the details that make care dependable week after week, from consistent scheduling to the communication that keeps out-of-town family members in the loop.
We understand the needs of South Miami seniors and families throughout the surrounding Miami-Dade County communities. Whether your loved one lives in a house near Sunset Drive or a condo closer to the hospital district, our team can reach you.
We Serve:
The word personal here isn’t about personal opinion, personal ambition, or personal appearance. It refers to private, individual care directed at your loved one, not a group program built for everyone the same way. Every personal interview during our assessment, and every personal question we ask, helps us build a plan around your family’s personal experience with aging.
Not exactly, by definition, personal care refers to assistance with activities of daily living, but the meaning stays specific to each person. In one sentence, personal care means help with the body’s daily needs, tailored to one person, not a group. That holds true whether the word functions as a noun or an adjective. Your loved one’s personal possessions, routines, and preferences stay respected throughout.
Costs vary based on hours and the level of assistance needed. Personal care can start at a 4-5 hour minimum for grooming and grow to full-day support as needs change. Most families find a plan that fits their budget.
Medicare does not cover long-term, non-medical personal care like bathing and dressing assistance. Many families assume Medicare pays for this kind of daily help, but it generally only covers short-term home health services ordered by a doctor. We help South Miami families understand the difference so they can plan accurately.
Watch for missed showers, stained or repeated clothing, unsteady movement around the house, and skipped meals. These are common early signs that daily tasks have become difficult to manage alone. If one family member is carrying the load, caregiver burnout becomes a real risk.
Florida licenses home care agencies through the Agency for Health Care Administration, and caregiver personnel must meet state background check requirements before providing care. Preferred Care at Home of South Miami holds Florida Home Health Agency license HHA #299995233. We add our own 7-step screening on top of state requirements, including background checks, skills assessments, and personality evaluation.
Yes. Personal care is flexible and ranges from a 4-5 hour visit to full-day support. Many families start small, with help around bathing and dressing, and use additional hours as needs change over time.
Call (786) 268-6706 and talk directly with Natalie Caldwell and Ricky Greene. You don’t need a plan before you call. We’ll listen, assess your loved one’s needs, and build a personal care plan your family can adjust over time.
