Like with many things in life, her first few experiences in home care was on the behalf of her family. Starting with her grandmother, who at the age of 90, needed to move into an assisted living facility. Even with that support in place at the facility, it was clear that she needed the additional care and attention of a companion to help her navigate through her daily activities. She quickly realized that finding reliable caregivers was difficult. Later when Amy’s father needed round the clock care, she again felt the stress and difficulty of finding reliable, affordable, and compassionate care firsthand.
