Susan Bishop
After 35 years of service as a Certified Public Accountant, Susan Bishop decided to make a change. Although this decision would be a life-altering leap of faith into the world of senior home care, Susan knew she wanted to support seniors and their families as they walk through the more mature stages of life. Susan’s passion for caring for the others derived from her experience lovingly caring for her own parents for a span of 14 years. Throughout those years, Susan gained first-hand experience as she sacrificed to help her parents maintain their independence as long as possible.

Kara Bishop
Susan’s daughter in law, Kara Bishop, left her career in education to join Preferred Care at Home. Although her passion for education still thrives, her decision to pursue a new path in senior home care was prompted by the illness of her father which presented a need for caregiving in her own childhood home. Kara merges her passion for education and caregiving in providing resources and support in her community for families and caregivers.
“Keeping dad home has been the greatest gift to my family. Watching my mother care for him is the most beautiful display of love I have ever experienced; but without caregivers, life at home would not be possible.“
