Local Owners Committed to Your Family

Amy Weiss

Amy understands the difficulty of finding reliable, compassionate care because she lived it. When her grandmother reached 90, facility support wasn’t enough. Finding trustworthy caregivers proved frustrating and exhausting. Years later, when Amy’s father required round-the-clock care, she faced the same struggle. Affordable, dependable professionals who genuinely cared felt nearly impossible to find. Those experiences changed everything. Now, as owner of Preferred Care at Home of Boca Delray and NPB, Amy’s focus is simple: helping your loved ones find the care she wishes had been easier to find for her own family.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any free or low-cost services that can help supplement home care?
Yes, many community programs throughout Florida offer valuable support services like transportation, meal delivery, home safety checks, and caregiver respite. These resources can help stretch your care budget and provide additional assistance for your family. Visit our guide for step-by-step tips on finding free services, including local, state, and nonprofit resources available to Boca Raton residents.
Absolutely. Our senior resource links page is a carefully curated directory of reputable organizations, benefits programs, and community services related to senior care, safety, transportation, health, and financial support. It’s designed to help families navigate the many options available in Palm Beach County and beyond.
Many families pay privately for our services, but that’s not the only option. Long-term care insurance, VA benefits, and state or local programs can help cover the cost of in-home care. Each situation is unique, so our team works with you to explore what’s available and what makes sense for your budget. Learn more about payment options and eligibility in our guide to ways to pay for home care.
We understand that needs can arise suddenly. In many cases, we can begin providing care within 24 to 48 hours of your initial consultation. Our priority is matching you with the right caregiver while moving as quickly as your situation requires.
Care needs often evolve, and we’re ready to adjust. Whether your family member needs more hours, different types of assistance, or specialized care for conditions like Alzheimer’s, we update the care plan and, if needed, adjust the caregiver match to ensure continuity and quality.
Yes. Our caregivers receive specialized training in dementia care, including strategies for communication, redirection, and the creation of calming routines. We understand the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease and late-stage dementia, and we support both seniors and their families through every phase.
Of course. We encourage families to meet their caregiver before care starts. This meeting allows everyone to ask questions, discuss preferences, and ensure a good fit. Building trust and comfort from the beginning is essential to the quality of care we provide.

Amy Weiss

Amy Weiss, the owner and administrator of Preferred Care at Home of Boca Delray and NPB, has always had an interest in bettering the lives of seniors. Like with many things in life, her first few experiences in home care was on the behalf of her family. Starting with her grandmother, who at the age of 90, needed to move into an assisted living facility.  Even with that support in place at the facility, it was clear that she needed the additional care and attention of a companion to help her navigate through her daily activities. She quickly realized that finding reliable caregivers was difficult. Later when Amy’s father needed round the clock care, she again felt the stress and difficulty of finding reliable, affordable, and compassionate care firsthand.

These experiences have made her and her agency particularly passionate about providing great care to the Boca Raton and Delray Beach communities.  She looks forward to doing everything she can to help your loved ones find the care and compassion that they deserve.
