About Preferred Care at Home
Our Family Caring For Your Family
In our personal lives, my wife and I have witnessed our parents go through the aging process and found out firsthand how difficult it was for them to remain in their homes.
As hands-on professionals with long careers in healthcare and business sales positions, we tried to go at it alone. In doing so we gave up things we didn’t intend on giving up, such as being able to just be a son and daughter instead of a caregiver. This invaluable experience and practice as caregivers is the foundation that Preferred Care at Home of Pittsburgh is built upon.
So when we started our senior home care company, our goal was to help shoulder the caregiving responsibilities in order to allow families to become husbands, wives, sons and daughters again. More than anything else, we believe this peace of mind is priceless
We are Don and Amy, and we are the owners of Preferred Care at Home of Pittsburgh, a senior care company located in Bethel Park.
We believe our calling in life is to bring together families with quality, attentive, and dependable caregivers, helping seniors improve their quality of life while safeguarding their independence in their own home.
What it means to be a Preferred Referral
At Preferred Care at Home of Pittsburgh, we believe our biggest asset is our caregivers. Amy and I take the selection of senior care professionals very seriously. We only work with caregivers who look and act professionally.
Each referred caregiver is a reflection of our home care company and its quality. This is why prior to any referral or placement on our registry, each and every professional caregiver has to pass the following: a Pennsylvania Magistrate check, a Pennsylvania Access To Criminal History background check, social media checks, a two-step tuberculosis test, and at least three reference checks. The final and most important criterion is whether they are someone we would send to care for our own parents.
But we don’t stop there either. We always follow-up with phone calls and visits to the client to ensure that the caregiver is a good fit and meets your home care needs.
The Preferred Difference
At Preferred Care at Home of Pittsburgh, we provide access to true Live-in care for a flat rate, with the primary caregiver taking care of your loved one for a 3 to 4 day period and which another professional caregiver working the remainder of the week.
We also use innovative software which allows families to monitor the daily activities and schedule of their loved one’s home care, no matter where they may live.
Moreover, we don’t ask for long-term commitments or surprise you with penalties for canceling service.
And with the start of senior home care service, we provide a complimentary home assessment and care plan for your loved one.
