For the past twenty years, Carol O’Dea and her husband, Patrick, have lived in and become a part of the Myrtle Beach community.  Patrick has served as a local attorney and they have raised their four children in this wonderful beachside community.

Carol’s professional experience has been in the airline industry, serving as a flight attendant for over 29 years.  With the downhill turn in the airline industry following 9/11, many workers’ malcontent was felt all the way down to the customer.  Carol, however, saw this as an opportunity to give customers the service they deserved regardless of external situations.

Carol’s experience as a flight attendant has also opened her eyes to the special needs of elderly persons.  “I found that there is a lack of compassion in the transportation industry for the elderly and the ailing.  I made it my mission to help those with special or elderly needs by offering them compassionate services that treated them with dignity and respect.”

Carol and her family also share a love for traveling to places where mission work is needed.  One of her most memorable experiences came during a visit to the Dominican Republic. “I watched my husband pick up an elderly, invalid woman and carry her from a dirty cement block to her new home in the village mission.  This experience was both humbling and rewarding.”

As the owner of Preferred Care at Home, Carol now hopes to spread this compassion to those in need of care in Conway and in The Grand Strand area.  “Preferred Care at Home shares this same vision of providing reliable, compassionate, and affordable care, and I am excited to be a part of their family.”
