Being raised by the son of a circuit preacher from the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky who set a lifelong example of personal ministry through helping elderly in our community, I grew up instilled with a special affection and appreciation for elder family and neighbors, which has influenced me in many ways throughout my life.
I observed my mother and her sisters lovingly care for their father and mother at home, during long, lingering illnesses. Then, one of those sisters herself became a victim of Alzheimer’s Disease and was tenderly cared for, while bedridden almost two years, in her home. After caring for my mother in my home the last three years of her life, with the help of two sisters, and now currently assisting an aunt under private care in her home, I have come to more keenly realize how much NOT having to move to a nursing home benefits the physical and mental well-being of someone, when they become unable to live independently.
The recent experience of arranging in-home care for my aunt brought to my attention, that a home care business is a wonderful opportunity to help people who need assistance remain in their homes and sustain a higher level of contentment and happiness than if they were moved out to be cared for in strange surroundings.
My wise father reminded me many times that if we can be contented where we are, we will be most likely to experience peacefulness and happiness. The more I mature, the more I recognize what a wonderful state of being contentment is, and I appreciate that awareness. I hope that contentment of mind and spirit will be a major benefit realized by the clients I have the opportunity to serve.
Reinforced with a lifetime of experiences and knowledge gained, I am glad and truly thankful to have become part of the Preferred Care At Home family of dedicated home care providers, and I now dedicate myself to serving those who need assistance with their daily living, by carefully identifying and supplying compassionate, reliable, and trustworthy caregivers, whose assignment will be to place utmost importance on recognizing and fulfilling the needs and wishes of our clients, while helping them remain in the place they prefer to be, usually their home, among their memories and cherished possessions, and where family and friends can visit comfortably.
I pray that, by becoming affiliated with Preferred Care At Home, I will be able to be a blessing to clients and their families, and I pledge that I will do my utmost best to exceed their expectations and desires in regard to protecting and providing quality care for their loved ones.
